Document Tracking
Our client was using a number of spreadsheets to manage their document control process. This process involved the logging of new document revisions, allocating the revision for information or for comment to a large number of staff members, collating comments, issuing comment reports and archiving the document as and when an updated revision was created.
With over 40,000 document revisions and with the requirement to issue and track comments of up to 80 consultants for each document, the process was becoming unmanageable - mistakes were becoming more widespread and the process was becoming long-winded.
We designed and implemented a web-based document tracking system, allowing document details to be viewed remotely. The data is live and held in one place, offering our client with a central repository of documents and each revision. Our solution also has inbuilt email notifications to help the users manage the updates / revisions and also has a powerful search engine that includes a user defined keyword search, allowing any document to be found quickly and with ease.
